Yes, it is in a book called THE EARLY ADMISSION'S GAME. It is the equavelent of adding 100 points to your SATs.

Depends on the school and the SAT score. But because schools know they have you in their headcount, they are willing to stretch a bit in letting kids in ED. There is also a psychological advantage in applying early in that more spots are open. As the spaces fill up, it get more selective for the spots that are left. So, as a rule it is advantageous. If you want to know how much for which school take a peek at the USNWR big fat 2004 guide, page 100 and something (don't have it right here) It lists early vs regular acceptance rates. For some schools there is no advantage or even a disadvantage. Now keep in mind these are last year's rates and things do change year to year.But it does give you an idea.
