sooo yeh. any CTYers posting here? :)

I'm interested in how you all are doing with apps and so forth.
And if you can, post dates/sites as well ;)

01 --> JHU, History of Modern Art
02 --> LMU, Existentialism

My dream school is Penn... want to major in Architecture. Pic in profile, if any of you recognize me :)

00 --> Carlisle, Independent Math Study

I'm applying ED II to WUSTL and am currently procrastinating.

By Nikelaos (Nikelaos) on Thursday, January 01, 2004 - 05:53 pm: Edit

oy, I feel you about the procrastination bit. It's like a typical CTY trait though haha... the procrastinating overachieving genius child.

procrastinating + overachieving = bad mix

but yes, good luck getting into WashU. i hear it's a great school.

oh and by the way, you didn't manage to sneak in CTY to any part of your app, did you?

By Northstarmom (Northstarmom) on Thursday, January 01, 2004 - 08:32 pm: Edit

Nikelaos,
My son, a h.s. soph, was in CTY Existentialism with you. Small world!
Good luck! :)

Northstarmom: Small world indeed! What's his first name, if you don't mind me asking?
(I'm Nick, by the way.)

Hamstarz: oooh I was in JHU s2 '01 as well! :) whose hall were you in? I was in Wyeth's, if you remember him...
and here's a pic of me (I'm multiethnic OoOOooOh) and my art teacher that photographers took that year for the CTY catalogue, oh-so-conveniently placed next to "working with a child who is apprehensive about our summer programs"

and my roomie!

(third guy to the left, red T-shirt)

We're just so glamorous, you know. He got the color postcard though, which I'm horribly jealous of.

chen: good for you! I wish I had, but it's too late now unfortunately :\

collegeguy: yeah, Lancaster is CTY Mecca lol... and I totally would like to see some CTYers in college. we should have our own elite society thing haha...

and for all of you... are any of you applying to JHU? Because on the app, there's a little section asking if you ever attended a CTY program, when, and where ;) yay for us!

and they were singing...

By Nyapplicant (Nyapplicant) on Thursday, January 01, 2004 - 10:25 pm: Edit

What is CTY?

By Alv (Alv) on Thursday, January 01, 2004 - 10:57 pm: Edit

I am CTY. Year 2000. It was in Maryland, in think it was called Chestertown. I loved the program

By Alv (Alv) on Thursday, January 01, 2004 - 10:59 pm: Edit

CTY is Center for Talented Youth. It is for kids with high SAT scores in middle school. I remember I got i think a 750 in math in 8th grade, so I qualified.

My daughter Skye,

Applied RD to Dartmouth, Cornell, UVA, William & Mary, Wellesley, Bryn Mawr and Georgetown. Wellesley was Early Evaluation so we'll have a tentative answer on Feb 1.

Any others out there?? Any friends of Skye's?? :)
