Do they look at clubs besides math/physics? Do they look at sports? Volunteer work? I noticed i am much more well-rounded rather than geared towards the engineering field.

BTW, is it easier or harder to get into the engineering school compared to the rest of the university?

first off... i just want to warn you that i personally don't know much about engineering/science schools 'cuz i'm going to be an English major... but my boyfriend and a few of my friends got into Harvey Mudd, Caltech, MIT, and Rose-Hulman, so I can tell you what i've observed.

anyway, my boyfriend is supremely well-rounded with athletics, English, whatever, and he got into Harvey Mudd Early Decision. For awhile, I thought "oh my gosh, Mudd is so hard to get into!" until my friend got in. Granted, he's SUPERB at the computer and even has his own online computer store... but his writing's not stellar (he got a 600 on SAT II writing and his essays were... uhhhhhh....) AND he didn't have that much volunteer work and he didn't play ANY sports.

my other friend was kind of the same way (not excellent at writing), and Rose-Hulman gave him a scholarship. I think Rose-Hulman is very generous AND it's a great school, so be sure to look into it.

but if you're looking at like, MIT or Cooper Union, you have to be the best at everything! i still assert that Harvey Mudd is the best, though (probably b/c so many of my friends go there, and they're such lovely people. Harvey Mudd people are the funniest people you will ever meet)

don't worry, Metra... just try. you'll find the perfect place AND i'm sure you won't have too much trouble getting in!
