My daughter does not have Texas A&M in her list of colleges for now. She has a good profile and is applying to Harvard(EA)Stanford, Swarthmore ,Brown, UCLA , UCSD, and USC as regular. She wants to do pre-med or try and get into the combined Bac/MD at Brown or UCSD. Texas A&M in the meanwhile has sent her a small merit scholarship offer and a possibility of higher amount if she makes it to the finals of national merit. They have also invited her for a paid visit to an overnight program. How does Texas A&M rank compared to the list of colleges above?

I've visited College Station, and it's okay for in-staters, but its' really not that great.. the environment is very Southern and conservative, and the town doesn't have that much to do... it's not the best atmosphere.
