I want to apply to schools online (and have already begun to), but there isn't enough space for me to talk about my ecs. Some of them require a bit of an explanation. Also, I am not sure if I have enough room to fit them all (though I suspect that may be the point). Some of the online apps have an extra box that allow you explain things further; some do not.

Are you able to attach a sheet with the online app? Or no?

How much space do they give?

I applied somewhere online recently, and they only gave you 4 EC spots and 4 work experience and volunteer spots--2 for Summer and 2 for the rest of the year. This seems plenty. I had to leave out one EC because it wouldn't fit, but I figured that it looked better that I had fewer anyway.

Trust me, they do not like people with 10 ECs. 2 or 3 shows commitment and sincerity. I did explain them, however, on a separate sheet of paper that I mailed to them. You could also do this, and it will give you more room to really show them how much they mean to you.

Yes, I know -- but the space that is left for explanation is very small, and I will need to explain most of my ECs. So it is okay to send a sheet in the mail even if you use the online app?
