Hey guys. I'm a junior ,and I am getting to that time of my life where I am about to face the great challenge of getting into college. I don't want to post all my academic info, but I will just give ya a clue of my achivements (which are nothing compared to the rest on the board).
4.0 GPA
AP classes (Chemistry, Biology, Calculus, US History) and others.
1 in my class
SAT II- World History-690
Well, I am really interested in the medical field, and I was wondering what certain things will help get me in. I am very intrigued by anesthesia, and I was wondering how important legacy is. My grandfather is on the main board of anesthesiologists in the world and is one of the three main editors of the main anesthesia text book. He went to Stanford and then UCLA med school. He has worked with UCI and is currently at Washington University med school. My great-grandfather was one of the first anesthesia specialists, and he also wrote (I think the first) one of the early textbooks. He currently has a building named after him at UCSF. My parents went to UCLA, and I am very interested in UCLA, Stanford, and UCSF. I was wondering if the legacy in my family will help me get into one of those prestigious colleges.

Of what I can see your stats look pretty good, and yes, legacy standing does make a difference (though some schools, such as Penn, claim only to consider legacy status for ED applicants).
Whoa, sounds like your family has a knack for knocking ppl out.
