Are these schools conservative or liberal? I haven't gone to visit and the guidebooks say all different things:

Williams
Georgetown
Amherst
University of Maryland
Yale
Chicago

Is political climate a concern for anyone else?

I don't think that any school can be labeled CONSERVATIVE or LIBERAL. But, overall here's what I think:

Williams I think would be pretty well centered. There's no reason to think it's either liberal or conservative.

Georgetown is a little more conservative than many schools just because it's Catholic, but it's not completely conservative.

Amherst - dunno

Maryland - Dunno, but probably liberal because it's a large state school

Yale - I'd say liberal.

Chicago - probably a good mix

Amherst's liberal.
