I have one question. Do colleges (especially Ivys) know where else (especially the other Ivys) that you hae applied to. I want to know how many colleges I should apply to if they actually know where else I am aaplying to. Because if they do know I have applied to so many "brand name" schools, they will think I am not very dedicated ot attend, say Brown or Dartmouth and thus reject me. If they have absolutley no clue where else I applied, I probably will apply to the majority of them. But for some strange reson, I have a feeling that the schools communicate and know EXACTLY where else you are applying to. Ideas??

The schools do have some form of ESP (normal folks call it videoconferencing, telephone calls, faxes, or emails), but I'm not sure as to what extent that would affect one's chances for admission.
However, I'd say the Ivies are pretty much septuplets in terms of their communication levels. If H wants to find out if you also applied to her sisters, Y is certainly not going to refrain from letting her know (officially or unofficially--that, I can't tell you).
Besides, applying to too many colleges simply becomes a waste of money at some point. Ten top tier colleges at 60 bucks each will run you up 600 bucks, and 20 recommendations. For that kind of money, you could take the SATs and SATIIs ten times each!
Remember, regardless of how many colleges you get accepted to, you can only attend one.
