I've seen many of you posted stats with 7+ AP classes during high school. Well you know what? It's not like we don't want to take more AP classes, but living in a place like California, which sets up a bunch of requirements and doesn't allow you to take a certain number of AP courses in a year, it's hard for us to take even 5 AP classes throughout the 4 years. To tell you the truth, my school doesn't let freshmen & sophomores to take ANY AP classes(like some of you guys took) and has requirements like PE and Health Ed. Our counselors don't let you to take certain classes because they "think" it's not right for you to take it at that time. So it's not our fault if we take, say, 3 AP classes. Perhaps I'm too sensitive, but some of you like to brag about the number of AP courses they took. We're not idiots you know, we want to take more but the question is: Can we? The answer is obviously a "no". Just have to let that out :P

Californian, every HS is different. Some have don't offer AP classes, others have tons. As long as you are taking the most challenging schedule your school offers, you have nothing to worry about.

yeah i agreee. in california we gotta take phys ed and even some art classes (for UC's). and for the kids who take 5 AP's a year, your school must be extremely liberal. most kids i know take one or two AP's before they are seniors. Senior year, sudents are pretty much able to take AP classes for every subject (though most choose easy A classes). So the max AP classes, from my knowledge, would be around 6.
Also, im assuming not every "AP" on this forum counts as classes. you get an AP score just for taking the test; you do not necessarily have to take the AP course to take the AP test. I plan to take about 7 AP classes by graduation but to have taken maybe 10 AP tests.
