Hello all, I am in a bit of a predicament concerning race on the college apps.
I am half Chinese, half Judeo-Spanish, and Jewish (other parent converted to Conservative Judaism).
Chinese is spoken with two of my older siblings, Ladino with the other two.
I haven't the faintest clue as how I am supposed to classify myself on the college applications (usually I check off Hispanic on these types of forms)

In truth, this country is becoming more and more mixed, and questions like yours are more typical than you might imagine, Franco. Some applicants may consider themselves multiracial, others may identify with a particular element in their heritage more than others.
Some colleges may have guidelines as to what they consider "hispanic", for instance, so check their application materials or web sites.
[Politics can enter the fray, too. I recall a flap a few years ago in which some black leaders did not want a "multiracial" category (on the census forms?) because they feared some individuals with partly black heritage might choose that category instead of "black". Their fear: more multiracial and fewer black individuals might impact set-aside programs, affirmative action goals, etc.]
