I applied early to the University of Pennsylvania, and have been advised against contacting their office as they have many applicants every year. (also, in their brochure, it doesn't feature admissions' email address). I read on this board that it's smart to keep in contact with the regional director in your area, but it doesn't seem like many of the bigger/ivy schools want you to do this. Does anyone have any suggestions?

First of all, what is the logic behind this phone call? Don't resort to the sucking-up policy... most officers can see right past it. Now, on the other hand, IF you are calling them to ask some sort of specific question or to tell them something relevant, I stress the word RELEVANT, then by all means do so. Just be aware that one simple phone call is not going to change much. I feel like I am talking in circles so I will end it with this: only call them if you have something to say. (which it sounds like you do not) Good day.
