Hey, I'm looking for a couple of match schools. I definitely have a good list of reaches, but so far Carleton seems like the only match school that I like. I'm looking for a place with great teachers and a strong science + humanities dpt.

Chinese F, would like to major in bio or psych, minor in philo., humanities, something like that..

SAT: 1470, 780V, 690M-2nd attempt
SAT IIs: Math IIC, Bio, Writing, and Chinese estimated to be in 700s
GPA: 3.87, 4.86
Rank: 7/417 (weighted)
Took hardest curriculum
*ECs:
-Piano Lessons (3-12)
-Speech Team (9-12)
-KEY Club (9-12)- (volunteer club thing)
-Yearbook Comm.(9-12)
-History Inquiry Politics Club (10-12)
-Affirmative Human Action Club (AHA) (10-12)
-we've done a lot, volunteering, organizing volunteering things like parties for a local underpriviledged apartment, raised about $1000 for various places, etc. etc. Very student-run. The teacher advisor was nothing more than a figurehead. Very important EC to me.
-Mock Trial (10-12)
-Literary Guild (9-10)
-SAVE (environment club) (9-10)
-Science Olympiad (11-12)
-NHS (11-12)--by the way, is it a joke at your school too??
-Varsity Tennis (10), took lessons during summers, ended up with tennis elbow so i couldn't play anymore..
-Newspaper Committee (12)
-Debate Team (12)
*Leadership experience:
-President and founder of school's AHA club (10-12)
-Speech Team Capt., Debate Team Capt., Mock Trial Pres., School Newspaper Editor, Yearbook Co-Editor, Public Relations and Newspaper Editor on Board for the Teen's volunteer program at a hospital
*Awards
-lettered in uh.. tennis, science olympiad, speech (2), mock trial.. AHA (2), HIP (2), some other stuff I think.
-Probably National Merit Winner
-Northern Star's Leadership Conference in MN (5 from our school were selected to attend)
-Nominated for National Honor Roll, National Youth Leadership Forum on Law, and one more.. NSLC or something, I can't remember
-Chosen to one of the judges for a local diversity film festival
-Several awards for speech, but none at state sadly
-Science Olympiad: 2nd and 4th in 2 categories (at state)
-Music Composition (piano)--State wins: 1 first, 1 2nd, 1, 3rd, 2 hon. mentions in diff. contests.. 1 2nd place at nationals.
Other:
-Babysit sometimes, only "real" work experience
-Volunteered with CardioVision 2020 (40 hrs), Hospital (60 so far), home for ppl w/disabilities (50), and other little things (30)
-Published 1 editorial in local newspaper, and co-wrote another full page article w/local Diversity Council-interviewed the mayor and other leaders in the community
-Mentored at Mayo Clinic (not for school credit, just out of interest) for 2 mo's
-went to france for a school trip for 3 weeks
-oh, was in UMTYMP, a really presitgious math program, so now I'm done with calc iii already, and hate math oh so much.. hehe
-oh, played piano for a senior citizens home about 5 times a year since 9th grade
-taught a kid piano for 3 mo's, i don't even know if this is important, it was fun though
-helped organize a film festival
-
K.. that's most of it i think. What do you think?
