I'm currently taking a class in molecular biology at Columbia University - will this help me in terms of college admissions?

Personally, I think it does. It shows that you are serious about your college education, which should go over well w/ any adcom.

But if you're talking about admissions to a specific school, Harvard (& other schools) states that attending their summer prgm doesn't guarantee admission/help.

Of course, I disagree and feel that it would help no matter what.

Any extra effort you make to furthur your education looks good. It just shows your dedication to education.
