I was wondering if colleges specifically knew how many hrs. you put into community service or do you just let them know on your application?

also what if you lie about how many hrs you commit yourself into community service?

They know if you tell them how many or if they contact your volunteer place. You may get caught/have your app thrown out if you lie about it.

On the application they ask how many hours a week you spend with each community service, EC, or job you do.
