On our app, can we put things we're im the middle of organizing and plan on running the summer after graduation? Like, setting up a music program for underpriviledged kids.. etc.

you can put the organizing part down

Will the college not take it seriously though? Like they think I'm just doing this to put something down ?

If I'm in the middle of organizing some programs that will take place either after I send in the application or even after I graduate (I'll be a senior), could I put down that I'm organizing these things? Or would putting them down make admission people think I'm just putting things down as a last resort to improve my resume?

The Amherst adcom told our group info session yesterday to avoid resumes like the plague. She hates them with a passion. She says they detract seriously from you app.

Iska, wtf? How?

Wait, no, sorry, when I say resume, I mean more of an extended list in addition to the reg. application. Not anything fancy.. or it means just the basic application too.

Amherst adcom says resumes make you look too packaged. Now, you can argue with her if you want to, but she's the one reading your app and passing judgment - like it or not.

No no no, that's not my question. On the application, there's usually places to put activities, volunteer things, etc. Is it ok to put stuff I'm not done with but plan to do? Like I'm in the middle of organizing it? Or does it make me look desperate to get in or something..
