heck with the ACC doing what their doing, it just pondered on me, why not move Northwestern to the Ivy League? We suck at football, are better than Cornell/Brown, why not let the Big 10 have 10 schools again and move NU into the Ivy League?

yeah, look at the rankings, enrollment, location, student:faculty ratio, and where are those Ivy League titles? Hell Northwestern has THREE BIG TEN TITLES IN FOOTBALL IN THE LAST 9 years...

I think it has to do with location....
NW isn't an east coast school.

the ivy league schools are the old schools that played football with each other on the east coast
why isn't stanford considered ivy league? why not mit? it's not really about the prestige of the school (though it is but not in the way that "oh this school is prestigious lets make it ivy league".

There should be another name for all the prestigious schools then which are constantly referred to as the "elite colleges."
