I was wondering what my chance of getting in to Berkeley ould be as an econ major from a california community college w/ like a 3.5 and plenty of EC's. Also UCLA.

Jonny,
If economics is impacted at Berkeley I would say that you probably do not have a good chance. However, if it is not impacted and you have a stellar essay you might get in. You probably have a good shot at UCLA, although you might want to consider one of the other UCs like Irvine or Davis.
ECs tend to matter less for transfer students. The UC system is much more interested in GPA. However, you might be able to sway an admissions reader with your essay.

listen....you are much different cause you are a transfer from a CA community college...do the IGETC...and you should most likely be dope for LA and Berkeley...ALSO...with that GPA you can get into USC as well...keep in mind USC is harder to transfer into than berkeley and LA...although check about how competitive your major is...however...as a transfer from a CA jc...you should be fine...peace, good luck. and God Bless.

I was wondering how difficult it is to transfer from one UC (Davis) to another (LA), especially for an impacted major such as business economics. How much more difficult is it to do compared to those transferring from a community college? What GPA would give me a good chance of transferring?

im not an expert but from talkin to people at UCs...it is a bit harder to transfer from one UC to another than it is from a JC...the reason is that they consider someone at a 4 year "taken care of" so to speak whereas one coming from a callifornia JC is looking to continue if that makes sense...i believe the UCs look at admissions in this sense...1. transfers from ca jc's 2. freshman 3.inter-UC transfers and transfers from other 4-years....if i were you id just call UCLA myself and findin out from them personally...peace.

Hi. I am attending JC right now and have a GPA of about 3.5-3.6.
I really want to get into UCLA.
I am an international student and I heard that it is harder to get in as an international student.
I am interested in Econ area and East Asian region and have interest in everywhere so I can't decide which major to choose and transfer as that major.
Can you tell me my chance of getting into UCLA?
Right now, I don't care which major I get into.
Thank you.

I have like a gpa of 3.5 i'm in the honors program at a JC not too much extracurricular activities other than playing an instrument for amlost half a week. I want to transfer to UCLA My major is dentistry. But on the major choices theres pre-dental. So do I have better chances getting in with that or should i choose something like biology and go with that. Also what are my chances of getting into UCLA

I was the vice president of the honors society at my JC with a 3.8 GPA. I had over 100 hours of volunteer work, and had a part-time job.I was turned down from both UCLA and Berkeley. You need raise you GPA and do more extracurricular activities if you want to get into the pre-dental program. If you apply as a bio major it may be harder to get in. Biology is a highly competitive major at all UCs. You best bet is to apply as pre-dental.
Good Luck!

You were turned down for what major Rebecca?
I have a 3.4 GPA, CC student, Cali resident, Honors Program at CC, work 28+ hours per week, have a lot of ECs and a pretty good essay.
I'm hoping to get accepted to UCLA as a Political Science Major and as a reach I also put down Berkeley.
USC is easy to transfer into
If you have a 3.0 or higher and are going into any major except Business your in at USC

Hi. I'm from Nebraska, I'm 17 years old. I've been developing some screenplays. I want to get into a major college so I can pursue what I love doing which is writing movie scripts. I've written a few and gotten pretty far. My dad says I can't go to a major college for this because I dropped out of high school. So I was wondering if anyone could help me and give me some information on how to get into a major university for what I love to do. I'd love some help, anyone who can help me...please do.

What exactly is an impacted major? i'm applying to UCLA undergrad as a bio major (freshman) so does that affect my chances at admission?

Exactly what would you suggest to a high school student for getting into UCLA? I currently have over a 4.0 GPA, but I was wondering what else it would take to get into this particular college since it's one of my top priorities. I'm currently thinking about majoring in biology or biochemistry. Any feedback would be highly appreciated.

hey board, its finals time here at Santa Monica College and I'm going a little paranoid about my grades. This is going to sound like such a stupid question but I have a C in english and I'm probably going to get a C in statistics (for fall 02)...I was wondering if that would make any difference in my getting accepted. I applied to UCLA, CAL, and UCSD for fall 2003. On my application I have a 3.54 GPA and I guess I'm wondering if the C I'm going to get in stats is going to affect getting accepted. I'm also an anthropology major if that helps in anyway...thanks!

I am currently on academic probation at a JC and was wondering if I turned my grades around, how does that affect my chances of getting into UCLA as a business economics major? My counselor says I still my have a chance, because colleges look for improvement as well. Is this true? And what advice can you give me?
