Can somebody please tell me if making it to the national honor role is a meaningful accomplishment or just another sham like Who's Who. What exactly does it take to qualify for this thing and will it matter at all to top colleges?

scam. but here's a "too bad so sad" story. some girl in junior miss actually announced her being on the national honor roll as a major achievement to our school during competition, and the entire audotorium bust out laughing. don't give it any thought, burn it!
