Hey,
Why does it seem that everyone has all these awards and ECs whereas I only have about 9 ECs to date and a tiny number of awards (none of which are prestigious)? Any input on this would be appreciated...

let's see how many I had: 3-4 academic teams, 1-2 school clubs, NHS, other community services.

In other words, 9 ECs are already very good, if you are an active member in them.

Having too many ECs will give the impression that you're spread out too thinly, if you know what I mean.

Usually you get prestigious awards from academic teams, sports, and music. By prestigious I mean at least regional or state level.

I listed four, count them four, ECs on all my apps. and had a 62.5% success rate.
Nine seems like a good number to me.
