I have heard many books listed like gatekeepers, a is for admission, admission confidential, and college admit trade secrets. Which is the best one?

*sigh* don't bother.
Half of the book will discuss things that you'd think is unfair but won't affect you (legacy, athelete recruits, donations, etc).
The other half of the book... summarized to be: "We want students with good grades in good classes, good test scores, good ECs, good essays, good recs, good interviews."
I think the only help I got out from such books (A is for Admission) is that I took my SAT IIs early on, instead of deferring them to senior year first semester like some people may have.
It'd be a lot more useful to look into test prep books and essay books.
