Hello,
I'm wondering how practical this plan sounds:
Obtaining a double major in Mathematics and Physics in 3 or 3 1/2 years. Then go to graduate school and receive a Master's in Applied Mathematics and a Master's in either Astrophysics or Nuclear Physics in 2 or 2 1/2 years.
I would like to go to Stanford Graduate School but I'm not very fond of the quarter system. Another possibility is University of Michigan. However, most likely, I will probably attend Ga Tech because I'm a GA resident and it's literally 20 minutes from my house.
Any ideas or suggestions??

You sure 3.5 and 2.5 years would be enough for double major in undergrad and grad. respectively?
And even so, you'll spend nearly all your time on math/science courses, so you'll miss out all the other great classes the colleges offer.

Serene,
Thanks for the quick response. I have spoken to GA Tech's graduate physics and mathematics departments several times and they say that the maximum amount of time for a grad degree in Math or Physics (no matter what the speciality is) is 2 years, but the average student finishes between 12 and 16 months. Plus, both programs are very interdisciplinary so I will be taking some business/humanities electives and some of the classes in both Master's Program will overlap (such as Linear Analysis and Partial Differential Equations). So in my situation, it will take between 24 and 30 months to finish the graduate degree.
Now, I'm currently at Morehouse College in Atlanta, which is a liberal arts college. It may have just been the college, but I cannot stand certain subjects (such as Politcal Science). Technically, I can graduate with a Mathematics Degree with a Physics Minor in 3 years, but I would like to take a couple more upper level undergraduate physics courses so that I may do well on the GRE subject test in Physics.
What classes do you recommend that I should take?
