Dear James,


For the past few weeks we have been closely monitoring the status of
the incoming freshman class. It appears our class is now complete and we
will not be making additional decisions from the Wait List.

Given the constraints of a small freshman class, we are very
disappointed we are not able to admit many well-qualified, highly motivated
students who would be successful, as well as contribute their talents and
interests to student life.

I do hope you know how very much we appreciate your patience during
this time, and how much we appreciate your interest in Caltech.

p.s. Each year students enroll at Caltech as transfer students. If you
wish to consider transfer admission, we suggest that you include in your
collegiate studies those courses (specifically math and physics) covered in
the Caltech Core Curriculum. Please contact us if you would like to receive
information on the transfer admission process.
