I am a junior in high school and I am getting an internship in a medium-sized company over the summer. The company is a biomedical engineering company that is finding a less invasive cure for Atrial Fibrillation (irregular beatings of the heart). The curative product will be brought before the FDA to be approved or rejected in about two months. I will be doing a ton of work over the summer for the company to get the paperwork ready for the FDA decision. Do you think it would look better for admissions if the product is passed or whether it would make no difference? Also, I know the president/CEO of the company, am I allowed to have him write a recommendation for me?

1) No, it doens't matter if the product is passed. Honestly, you're efforts won't change that, and colleges aren't expecting you to have cured a disease.
2) Yes, he can write a rec. Be careful though, if you know him outside of the company; it'll be obvious why you got the job. A manager/boss could more accurately (and with less bias) attest to the quality of the work you've done, your dedication, etc. than the CEO.
3) Good luck! Just the fact that you've had the internship will look good. Mention it in an interview if you want.
