Hi guys, Ive been admitted to UCLA for the fall 2003 as a transfer from junior college. I was admitted with a 3.65 GPA, but during this last semester in JC my grades have dropped. It looks like I might end up with a 2.95 for this semester, with 2 c's. What are the chances that I will get revoked??

Slim to none....don't worry at all.
I'm in exactly the same boat, except my GPA up until this spring was a 4.0. I think I'm getting 4 B's and 3 A's this semester.
I was worried, too, but I've been told that, as long as your cumulative GPA does not drop below 3.2, you could get all C's and UCLA still wouldn't revoke you.
From what I've heard, you REALLY gotta screw up to get revoked.
BTW - what JC did you attend? I'm at Mt. SAC in SoCal.

I appreciate the info, that really is a relief to hear. Ive already told all my friends and family about my admission into UCLA, and everyone is extremely proud of me. You can probably imagine what it would do to me if my admission were revoked....
Im attending American River College in Sacramento. As far as Junior Colleges go, Its an awesome campus with intelligent staff and competetive students. However, I still think I'm gona have to step it up a notch when I get to UCLA....I hear that some students there study 5-6 hours a night just to maintain a 3.5

Forget about UCLA, DMS 105. Harvard is a great school and it's in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It is one of the best Ivy League schools and they don't REVOKE your application even if all your grades fall to C (but not below D!!!). Trust me, it's a better school than UCLA. It not only has national reputation but also is internationally known. I suggest that you apply to Harvard and forget about UCLA. If you are not convinced about excellence of Harvard University you can visit their website at www.harvard.edu. You may think that I am biased, since I am a Harvard student myself. But being a Harvard student, I like to encourage people to apply to Harvard. Trust me, it’s an awesome school!

DMS105-
what's your major, cuz I, too, a JC transfer, am going there for fall. Did you apply for housing yet?

I got accepted under Pre-Psychology, which means I get to finish my lower division courses at LA. I turned in my application for housing last Thursday on the 29th (hopefully you got yours in by the June 2 deadline)...anyway I talked to someone in housing and they said that transfer students usually get assigned to the university apartments, which are located one block west of the campus. Since freshman turn in applications early, they get most of the spots in the on-campus halls. I was also told that as long as you turn in your application by the due date, you are GUARANTEED a spot somewhere. Ive done some research on the living conditions of the different dorms, let me know if you have any questions.

Dms105-
do you plan on attending orientation? if so, what session? I'm most likely going to attend orientation session 106, on July 31.
