Don't know too many facts about it, but rumor has it that Santa Monica college is one of the best community college out there and it has excellent transfer rate to UC schools.

SMCC has *the* best transfer rate to UC's. Only one other CC is close.

Note: as with other California CC's, they are facing budget cuts and it's unclear at this time what the impact will be for students but it is likely that some classes/sections will be dropped...not that this won't be a problem for all California CC's.

Oh...sorry...Santa Monica CC, the one Caliwannabe was asking about. They're real tight with Samohi, getting kids into UC who can't get there directly for either financial or academic reasons.
