Got a HS sophomore who is just starting to look around. What are good colleges, primarily in the mid-Eastern seaboard area, for political science? We're in No. Va., I know he's not interested in GW or Georgetown, doesn't want an urban campus. How is JMU and Mary Washington College for polysci? What else should be considered? Right now interest is high in William & Mary, but that's a big IF to get in, even as instate.
Thanks.

Why UVA? I'm not against it, definitely a good consideration (again, the issue of getting in however), but just want to know why UVA rather than someplace else?

Check out their website under the school of arts & sciences. They make a very good case for attending for Poli Sci/Government: Nationally recognized faculty, Internships, Excellent grad school and job placements.

However, I have heard that Poli Sci is one of JMU's strongest departments as well.
