I am not one of those kids who is aiming way to high. I just want to apply to some good engineering/science schools and i'm not talking like Caltech, MIT and Berkley.
Stats-
White, live in WI, Senoir in HS and have ADD.
College prefrence-Doesn't really matter to much, but would prefer a private school and in a rural area.
GPA-2.65
Freshman year and the first semester of Sophmore year killed me
First Semester freshman Year-2.5 GPA
Second Semester freshman Year-1.9
First Semester sophmore year-1.7 GPA
Second Semester sophmore year-3.4 GPA
First Semester junior Year-2.9
Second Semester junior year-3.5
Freshman and Sophmore year I took a very very easy schedule. Junior Year I took AP US History and Honors English. This Year I have 4 AP clases.
(AP Chem, AP Bio, AP Art History, and AP English which course covers both AP English exams)
My class rank is someting like 210/350 students at a relativley non-competative public school in Wisconsin
(60th percentile)
Test Scores-
ACT-33 (Perfect score on math section)
AP US History-3
Letter of recomendation-
I am going to get my letter of recomendation from the head of the science deparment in my school district. He is a very well respected man in the area, and looks over 24 schools. I am the only person he is writing a letter of recomendation for, so I am sure he will make it good.
Also at mid semester sophmore year I diagnosed as having ADD. So I started taking Adderall XR and my grades improved greatly. (I wish I had been taking it thoughout highscool!) But anyways will adding this to my application help me? I don't want to use it as an excuse for my poor grades though.
Here are a few colleges I am interested in. Please let me know you think I have a shot, because I truley don't know much about college admissions-
