how hard is it get good grades at MIT? is the workload insane, or doable...what major has it the easiest and the hardest...how does one maintain a good GPA at MIT? they dont have any fixed percentages for getting an A and it all seems pretty subjective...

go take a look at core curriculum at MIT. http://web.mit.edu/catalogue/02edition/ch3-admissions.html

Also, go to a book store and buy unofficial guide and stuff. I have a book that mentions MIT.
MIT: “better to be from MIT than to be at MIT,” “unhappy students,” “workload pulls us together; it’s us versus them (the university).”

I personally haven't attended MIT classes but from what I have seen, it seems it's not gonna be easy. Visit the campus before you make your decision. It's quite scary.

According to US news and world report, 98% of freshmen was in top 10% of HS class(highest in the nation). There are a lot of geeks there.

I myself have been admitted to MIT and Penn. Obviously if I were to pick between them just based on the reputation, I will probably go to MIT, unless I plan to major in business at Penn Wharton. But after seeing all that, I couldn't possibly go to MIT.

Social life is a disaster and students are not sociable...anyway, that's just my opinion.

Hope this help and good luck with your decision.

?better to be from MIT than to be at MIT,?

does the being FROM outweigh the being AT? or is going to MIT not worth the work...
