I need some serious help. I am trying to determine which school I would like to attend based on its academic strength. My future career direction is business or law and I hope to pursue an MBA or JD in graduate school.
Here are the choices, which school is the best for my academic interests and its overall reputation. I have been accepted to the following:
CORNELL - Major: Industrial Labor Relations-ILR
UCLA - Major: Pre-business Economics
USC - Direct admission to Marshall School of Business.
CARNEGIE MELLON - Major: Business Administration (school of Industrial Administration)
GEORGETOWN (Waitlisted) - McDonough School of Business
I'm confused as to whether an economics degree from a university is too general for my future career plans. How do prospective employers consider an economics degree vs. a business school degree or Cornell's ILR which I think provides for both law and business?
I know there are alot of other factors for me to consider ie athletics, weather, social environment but right now I would really appreciate feedback on the academic qualities and reputation of these universities. Thank you.
