Was accepted to both schools and like both for different reasons.
Any input into either of these schools would be appreciated.

All I know is...Davis is ranked a little higher. And UCSB students are infamous for drinking a lot.

UCSB is in a gorgeous location. Great place to go to school...horrible place to have to study. You can certainly avoid the drinking if you wish.
As for academics, I take the rankings, particulary US News and Barf Reports...with a sackful of salt. It's probably a department by department thing. Majors as diverse as English, Engineering, and Chem are strong at UCSB.

I got accepted to both schools and I'm planning Chem Major. Is UCSB really better for chem and pre-med students?

I am planning to be a humanities major, and I have to say the depth of courses available at UCSB is far above and beyond what Davis offers for the humanities. Davis is more for the scientific, they have many odd majors and minors not offered elsewhere like soil science...
