Can anyone give me an opinion of the people/social scene at UNC chapel hill?

You won't find a nicer group of people anywhere, as far as I'm concerned, and the party life is thriving. Basically, if you want to go out from Thursday-Sunday, you can do it. If you don't drink or like to go out, you can find a whole lot of people just to hang out with too.
Believe me when I say that Chapel Hill is the prototype of college towns. It'd be a mistake for anyone that is accepted not to go there-- it's got everything, from national recognition, right down to friendly people and a truly gorgeous campus.

Why do you say that Chapel Hill is to great? Are the classes harder than a normal state university? Are the facilities better than other places? Are people drunk in class? Are the teachers good? Who will be the next basketball coach? These are important questions that need to be answered.

Chapel Hill is great. No, people are not drunk in class. There is the party people of course but you certainly don't have to get drunk to have fun. Good hang out palces (Players on Frankiln St. Franklin Street itself). Good athletic facilities and very nice dorms. Great food at Lenoir Dining Hall. Strong honors program, strong teaching staff (i've met a few of the professors).

Does anyone know anything about the business school? Is it hard to get into? Is it highly regarded? Why did the Heels suck last year in basketball? Do lots of business grads get jobs right out of school? Are the business classes large? Are the people are unc stuck up?

ya i went there; im trying to decide between there and cornell and uc berkeley. Both cu and berkeley have better academics. i talked to a history prof at unc who said 1/3 of the kids are berkeley/ivy calliber but 2/3 arent. however, honors program is real good which i'd do. also people seemed kinda dumb blonde. awsome music scene on franklin though. a lot like berkeley. can someone comment on the dumbblondeness i precieved in the peopel though? and maybe whether theyr interesting or kinda closed minded and abercrombie wearing. i also didnt see too many people w/ piercings, tatoos or alternative clothing the way they do somewhere like berkeley (where i'm from). comments on this from the people who go there would help a lot. o ya, the people were superduper friendly by the way.

Umm...we're kind of preps in NC. Supernice, liberal, but yah not much outcasty socialism going on. They aren't dumb blondes, that's just the way it comes of in southern girls. The ones that look like "dumb blondes" are *usually* the smartest ones there.
Oops, this was from a hella long time ago.

Carolina, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Lots of preps around here and stuck up people too. Chapel Hill is a nice place, but it gets very boring during the summer. Franklin Street gets old after a few months. Some frat parties are cool (the one with kegs and other stuff) while others you might find yourself sitting around drinking zimas or siping on some wine coolers. The females are beautiful, but some are lesbos. Beautiful campus, but a lot of construction. Football games are mainly a social event, get there around the 2nd and normally leave during the 3rd, but if you are lucky, basketball games are a lot of fun. Cool professors, some are very hard, some are very liberal, but overall you will enjoy them but don't expect more than a B or C. If you are a minority, you may not feel included and there has been some recent racial problems between students, but they sometimes have parties for us too, like black greeks and etc...but sometimes those suck too. Overall, Carolina is ok, at times I love it and at other times I hate it.
