By Yoyo (Yoyo) on Saturday, April 05, 2003 - 06:25 pm: Edit

i got into Mccormick School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, but now i'm not quite so sure i want to do engineering...will northwestern allow me to double major in biomed engineering as well as political science/international studies, even though they're totally unrelated fields? or should i see if i can transfer out of the school of engineering and into weinberg?

i also have the same dilemma for tufts, i got into the engineering school...in terms of flexibility, in which school will it be easier to double major/switch schools?

opinions will be greatly appreciated!!

I'm not exactly an expert but when i went on the Tufts tour the guide said that half way through his freshmen year he transfered into the Engineering school. He made it sound like it was an extremely easy switch to make, but then again he was selling the school. I know nothing about Northwestern.
I'm not much help Sorry

I'm a chemical engineering and classics major at Tufts; you can do both if you take a few extra classes, and it is quite easy to switch to and from engineering. They are extremely flexible, just be prepared to take a few extra classes if you haven't come in with a lot of AP credit. Good luck! Please email me if you have any questions. :)
