Hi, I'm interested in applying to Yale for theater studies. My gpa is around a 3.6 unweighted with all honors and about 7 aps, and my sats are about 1410, but i expect them to raise.. I know my numbers don't really add up to what is normally at Yale, but does the fact that I have an extensive amount of involvement in theater and theatrical training and have founded community theater groups for charity, etc...help? And how much do they examine what your expected major is in relationship to your admission and past achievements?
Thanks
Mackenzie

I'd contact either undergrad admissions at Yale or the music department and ask them. I glanced at the Yale website and couldn't really tell whether they require auditions for HS applicants, or whether you need to be accepted to Yale and then, later, audition for the department.
Regardless, outstanding ECs can give you a boost; if they relate to your intended major, so much the better. Good luck!
