Hi. Time is running out for me to narrow down my list. Iíve got a decent list going on now, but Iíd like to see how it compares with what is suggested for me.
My stats are:
Class Rank: Top 10% out of 500+ Students (we switched over from the numerical system. I used to be 12th and Iím probably 10th or higher now numerically)
SAT: 1200 (590v 610m (it was my first time) plan on pulling it up in October to 1350+)
SAT 2 Writing: 670 (may retake in November)
SAT 2 Spanish: 720 (may retake in November)
SAT 2 US History: 700
3 years on literary magazine staff (literary editor 11th grade, most likely editor in chief 12th) the magazine has won tons of state and national awards.
2 years on student senate (became secretary in 11th grade)
Wrote for school paper (news editor 12th grade)
2 state awards for a vignette and feature story in literary magazine (for 10th grade, probably 1 or 2 more for 11th)
Foreign Lang. Honor Society for Spanish 1-5 (A+ in Spanish 2, 3, 4, 5)
National Honor Society (my school only inducts seniors)
Worked this summer as a tech-assistant for UPenn
Senior Year Classes
Advanced Pre- Calc
AP English Literature
AP Spanish Language (Iím not getting credit for half a semester because Iím ďonly allowed to take 4 classes per semesterĒ - The Guidance Department)
AP Chemistry (internet class/independent study)
I plan to major in Hispanic Studies/ Spanish Literature, but Iím also interested in double majoring maybe with some form of science or cultural studies degree. Iíd like to stay generally in the northeast, but Iíd appreciate any suggestions, since Iíve got about 2 months to narrow everything down. I need safeties, matches, and reaches. Thank you for your help.

Don't leave anything to chance with the SATs, I think it's why everyone is hesitent to pick schools at this point for you. If you can afford it, get the best tutoring available. Take practice tests daily!

Have you looked at Earlham's Border Studies Program? It sounds amazing!
No idea how the literary end of things Spanish is, though -- but graduates have gone on to do substantial work in Central America. Your SAT scores would likely be enough, though 100 points wouldn't hurt.
No, it's not in the northeast - if it was, you wouldn't likely get in.

Assuming a 1300-1350 SAT I re-take, investigate these LACs: Kenyon, Connecticut, Dickinson and Kalamazoo (safety), plus Trinity University (small Texas uni)
