Laura, you are not even a Sophomore and you ask such deep questions! LOL Wisconsin-Madison, Colorado-Boulder and Illinois-Urbana Champaign are known for being party schools.
But then again, MIT is also know for being a party school, so you never can tell. The fact is, even schools that are known to be serious have a party scene. Afterall, anytime you have thousands of 18-23 year olds concentrated in one area, the potential for a party is great.

Thanks. I was just wondering what they were. My friend and I were arguing over one of the tops in 2001, where she would like to go. But thanks anyways.

There are really two kinds of party schools: good schools that also have a heavy party scene (Wisconsin, Colorado, etc...), and then there are schools that are better known for their partying than for their academics (Arizona State, Northern Illinois, etc...)
Which kind are you looking for?

02. California State University, Chico
03. Rollins
04. Louisiana State
05. West Virginia
06. Colorado
07. Wisconsin
08. Connecticut
09. Kansas
10. San Diego State
11. Georgia
12. Ohio State
13. Iowa State
14. Florida State
15. Colorado State
16. Florida
17. Tulane
18. Washington State
19. East Carolina
20. Michigan State
21. Mississippi

As Tosg said, there are very good schools that have heavy party scenes (ie. Wisconsin, Lehigh, Vanderbilt, Tulane, etc.)
And then there are, well, just plain party schools (AZ State, LSU, Chico)

Actually, I dont want one either, but virtually every school in the nation is going to be a "party school."

In my mind warm weather and beautiful people tend to make up the biggest party schools. UCSB, SDSU, U of Arizona and ASU dominate all, so avoid them. But of course Chico is ridiculous too! When I think of dartmouth I think of alcoholics.
