hey yall. You guys know my stats, but if you don't, i'll say them again.
African-American Female from Chicago
Majoring in Pharmacy or Biological Sciences if the school doesn't have a pharmacy program
My College List
University of Florida
Florida State University
Florida A&M (SUPER-SAFETY)
University of Maryland
U of C (haha.......impossible)
I didn't want to have a lot of colleges cause application fees are a pain in the anus. Do you all think that I have a good shot at these schools, along with my EC's (which you can see in other posts if you want)?

African American female? 3.5 GPA Tough courseload? Decent ACT score? Chicago is a reach, but not impossible. I would certianly encourage you to apply toichigan. They have a top 5 school of Pharmacy. University of Florida is also excellent.

thanks, i didn't even think about Michigan. i know that i can get into Depaul and FAMU, but what about schools like UF, FSU, and Emory?

Woah! Major typo there. I am impressed that you managed to extrapolate Michigan from "toichigan"! LOL Well done.
Emory is very tough, so the odds there aren't great. Florida is also relatively selective, so it may be a mtach or a slight reach. But you can apply to 3 or 4 reaches as long as you apply to a couple of good safeties. Give your safeties a lot of thought, and then pick your reaches and your matches.

but, what could be some safeties that have a good pharmacy program?

Try Purdue and Drake (Des Moines, IA)
|By Collegebound05 (Collegebound05) on Friday, August 06, 2004 - 04:09 pm: Edit|
I heard Purdue was racist.....I know that you'll come into prejudices everywhere, but I heard that Purdue was overly racist. I don't want to make this comment into this huge discussion, but I wanted to know if anyone else heard that but me.

Pittsburgh and Rutgers have good pharmacy programs. BTW, Rutgers is one of the most diverse schools in the country. It is located between NYC and Philly.

Collegebound, here is a ranking of the top pharmacy schools.
University of Minnesota would be a safety/match for you.
University of Kentucky would be a safety
University of Arizona would also be a safety
Here's the list I would recommend:
Johns Hopkins University
University of Chicago
University of Michigan-Ann Arbor
University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill
University of Texas at Austin
University of Florida
University of Minnesota-Twin Cities
University of Washington-Seattle
University of Arizona
University of Illinois-Chicago
University of Kentucky
But don't forget the LACs, there are some excellent LACs in Biology:
Bowdoin College in Maine is excellent (reach)
Bryn Mawr (if you don't mind all-girl schools) is very good and you can take classes at the nearby sister school, the University of Pennsylvania.
Colorado College (match)
Davidson College (reach)
Reed College in Oregon is awesome (match)
Let me know if yo would like to explore the LACs more, there are many people on this forum, like Blaineko, who really know their LACs.

can someone help me with good schools in NY that offer pre-law?

why didn't you make your own thread? that's...kind of weird.

Collegebound05, as a NJ resident, I suggest you add Rutgers to your list. Pharmacy is one of the things they are really known for! Rutgers also has a fairly strong school spirit because of their competitive sports teams...

thanks Tkdgal, but do my stats match Rutgers?
