Does anyone know where UCSB ranks for undergraduate Electrical Engineering? So far it is my top choice, awaiting my privates and UCB. Also if available, I would also like to know where their undergraduate Computer Science ranks.
I would also appreciate your input on other colleges with Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
Thank you,
phpguru

Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, Purdue, UCB, UCLA, UCSD, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, MIT, CalTech, Stanford, Cooper Union, UMICH, SCU, Notre Dame, Rochester, NYU, Tufts, Dartmouth, and UPENN all have far better engineering programs than UCSB....As do many others...
If you get into Berkeley, and want to major in EE, you should go. Or any of those schools that I mentioned. I don't think UCSB is very high, if even in the top fifty (although US News is not the ultimate rankings). Also, it is not well known as an engineering school or a school with an excellent engineering program.
All I know is that UCSB kids are in general happy, and that is a very valid reason to choose it. However, there are a lot more known and better engineering programs.

Actually, engineering is one of UCSB's strengths. Granted, it's not up there with Cal or any of the colleges that Impact mentioned, but not everyone can go to Ivy League schools. I'd say it's a really good choice.
