I want to transfer to NYU in the spring if I get in, and I'm wondering if anyone here knows any or about NYU people. I've heard that a lot are mean, but I've also heard that many are friendly. I'm kinda quiet at first, but I'm easygoing and pretty much just genuinely nice. Would I have a problem making friends at NYU, especially as a transfer, or with the amount of people there, do you think I'm bound to find my niche with friends? Thanks!

There are 50,000 students at NYU. You'll find every different kind of person you could think of, including some who are mean and some who are friendly. It's a huge school in an even more huge city. Making friends there, like anywhere, takes some effort but it certainly can be done. I have many friends there and come August, I'll be there, too. Depending on which program you want, you may not be able to enter in the spring. Fall entry is probably better, in terms of meeting people, because there's a transfer orientation the week before classes start, just like there's a freshman orientation.

I'm nice and I'm going to NYU. I am definitely a representative sample of the NYU population.
