Based on their 2004 admission profile, only 5% of accepted students ranked outside of the top 10%! Is there any point in applying as someone who ranks just outside top 10%?? It seems that the majority of those 5% are URMS or recruited athletes.

Hmm do you have a link?

I mean, there's probably a select few who weren't URMs or recruited athletes and out of the top 10%. . .whether or not it's worth even applying is up to you. If you're feeling lucky and willing to pay the app. fee, why not.

theres the depressing link! do you think that means that people in the top 10% are accepted at a 5% rate?

Those who are below the top 10% get admitted 5% of the time. . .yeah, even though georgetown isn't the highest ranked school, it has always been one of the most selective.

According the this profile, I have roughly a 38% shot at getting in. . .I won't apply, but interesting to see.

yay, that's my class, lol. Anyway, definitely apply if you feel that Gtown has what you want to pursue, and it's a school you're interested in. I mean, how will know if you have a shot or not if you don't apply? There really isn't a way to know that the majority of the 5% are URMs or athletes. Just remember that class rank is only one part(though GPA is typically the most important part of your application).
Yes Gtown is VERY selective(one of the 10 most selective schools in the country as shown in USNews, tied w/ University of Pennsylvania), however that shouldn't be a reason to not apply.
