Hello.
I am looking for colleges which are excellent in both film and engineering. I would rather (but not must) be in east coast. I can think of only on school, Columbia. although most of selective schools have better-than-average or great engineering dept. i've never heard any other ivies or similarly selective schools are particularly good at film.
I love NYC and Columbia would be superb. but i would rather want to have more options. (reach, match, and safety)
thanks.

Northwestern University is good in film. The engineering school is awesome too.

i should put a more detail.
it's actually bio-medical engineering and film -0-
anyone knows about columbia 3-2 BA/BS program???
i know it's like getting BA in columbia college in 3 years(required all the science classes) and jump to SEAS to get BS in 2 years.
do you guys think it's possible to major in film in first 3 years (with required classes) and get BME BS at SEAS?
i mean, it would be still though, but would it be easier than double major at same time (or minoring) ?
OR does BA have to be in science field? (required classes seems to fill most of credits.)
if then what is real benefit to get (say) Biology BA and BME BS?? (isnt this possible by just double majoring BME and biology at same time, and graduate in 4 years?..) what is true advantages if i will attending columbia college for first 3 years?
PLEASE tell me about 3-2 combined program with un-engineer-related BA degree in first 3 years. (oh. and. after 3 years, if i settle down with film, can i not to take extra 2 years for BS?)
oh. my. tons of questions. sorry for that -0-
any comments and advise would be so thankful.
ps : Thank you so much for reply. USC film school looks fantastic, but that particular department seems to be too though to get in. northwestern university got into my list ^_^. i'll find more about film department in cornell.

depends on your priority, for film, NYU or USC, engineering, then both those schools are great but there are better schools for engineering, like Big-10 schools or stanford, overall tho, for that kind of combo, i would stick with NYU and USC or Northwestern

The production major in CTV at USC leads to a BFA, which requires a huge time committment. The critical studies program in CTV leads to a BA with different type of courses that give students more flexibility.

any information on columbia's 3-2 BA/BS combined program?
a bit more personal thought about columbia's film program?
(i love to go california, but if there is good or great film schools on east coast, i would just stay east coast.)
any ivies (harvard has 'film major' but it's called visual and enviromental studies. Any idea about this?) has good film school?
(or is it bad idea to go ivies for film? after school wise , industry wise?)
thanks for replies!

Hsseniorpa, you can't double major in Film and Engineering at NYU, so that wasn't a good suggestion.

Well i looked into the 3-2 with columbia as i was probably goign to do it if i went to williams ...williams encourages you to major in either physics, math,or chem and then prusue the 2 years in columbia ..i bet you can squueze some film classes in between or do 4/2 and get a double major
