Maybe, the ACT really messes you up. Trying uping it or taking the SAT.

I also suggest applying to Tulane.

I am confused. Are you at UT-Austin currently? What are you majoring in? Why did you do your TOEFL? Is English not your native language? What was your ACT math?

Yea, im at UT... I was just bored... I didnt apply to any schools except UT so I just wanted to know what my chances are...

Yes, English is my second language. My act math was weak-28... But my SAT math was 660 and it is equvilant to a 30 on the ACT

What's your GPA at UT?

If financial considerations are not a problem, you lose nothing. However, the schools you are talking about are not necessarily that much better than UT.

Money is a problem but not a terminating one. Umm, im stil a rising freshman... If i can keep a 3.5 then are my chances good?

Yea, im not really leaning that much towards getting out... Just wanna know... the school i mentioned carry more prestige, wonder if that matters a lot at business school or law school down the road...

You don't need better than UT-Austin. It is one of the 10 most respected State universities in the US. Its academic reputation is up there with the best of them. In terms of quality of life, Georgetown is excellent, but Notre Dame is not that good, Carnegie Mellon and USC are good, but not as fun as Austin. And then there's the money. $10,000/year vs $40,000/year. You do the math.

If you are a debater looking to do parli in college, those are shotty parli programs. Look at Fordham if you want a Catholic school with a top debate team or Boston U or GW for better debate programs at urban universities.
