My stats:
22 year old, foreign born, reformed high school drop-out.
3.3GPA, 52 credits at a 4-year business school (CUNY). Strong upward curve. Double major: business management/history.
SAT: lopsided 1200, did poorly on the math portion. (irrelevant, took it in 1999).

ECs:
Infantry sergeant in the NY Army National Guard.
Employed part time by the Rockefeller University.
Serious guitar player.

What I'm looking for in a school:
-strong history/business depts
-small liberal arts school in the Northeast. -Outside big cities.
-no frats, or very weak frats
-artsy OK
-preppy tendencies OK

I will be applying for Spring '05 semester. Skidmore and Lafayette look very appealing.
Could somebody recommend more schools and comment on the two schools I have chosen? Thanks very much.

What about Drew? I go there, and I have a friend going to Skidmore who loves it.

I looked at Drew website and so that they offer no business management as a major. I'll only be willing to transfer to a school that has a strong business dept and history dept as I am keeping my options open for law and/or business school afterwards. Anyone else?

Skidmore alum here. It sounds like it may be a good fit for you, both academically and socially.

I was a business-economics double major, and both programs are exceptional. The Arts programs are hard to beat.

From what I know of Lafayette, it is much more conservative than Skidmore. I believe the "prep" factor would rate higher at Lafayette, but one cannot be sure.
