I do not know that much about them except that all have fairly good reputations with Haverford probably ranked higher than the rest. Also, Wabash is an all-male school, one of the few remaining in the US.

All male school like Wabash and all female schools like Smith...what fun is that?

I would say Bowdoin then Haverford.

This list includes many very different colleges.

The top 2 in academic reputation are Haverford and Bowdoin, which differ most in location, with Haverford being in suburban Philadelphia, and Bowdoin being more rural Maine.

Hamilton and Reed might be next, with very different characters as well. Hamilton is in upstate New York, while Reed is in Portland, Oregon. Hamilton, in particular, draws heavily from New York and surrounding states. Reed has a reputation for being highly intellectual, with a curriculum drawing from "great books" of western civilization, and is known for sending many graduates on to PhD programs.

Lafayette has engineering, which most of these others don't.

In other words, you need to figure out what you want out of college. It doesn't make sense to just pick the top one from USNews or any other ranking.

Just my $.02.

Thank you for your help. I intend to study Economics and find a job after graduation. Please tell me which school offers the best Economics program and is it hard to find a job after graduation ? .Thank you very much.

Go with Haverford. They created a nice economics program with Bryn Mawr that is really great if you want to study international economics relations.

Also, schools like Earlham and the other ones on your list are just terrible.

Go to Bowdoin....I'm going there next year. I visited both Bowdoin and Haverford and I have to say that Bowdoin is leaps and bounds beyond Haverford in overall quality :)

they are all very different, not just in terms of academics, but also socially. you need to decide what kind of environment you want.

Reed: Highly intellectual, known for strenuous academics, extremely literature oriented, "humanities nerds", haven for counter-culture, very liberal, strict core curriculum (meaning little choice in what courses you take-- think Swat/Columbia)

Haverford: My favorite of all of these schools, debatabely the best academics. But Haverford is very unique and you need to be a certain kind of person to enjoy this school. Strong Quaker tradition, focus on equality, discussion and honor. The Honor Code governs life here in a way that merges academia and social life. People respect each other at Haverford. They do not cheat. Students are trusted. Liberal, but not militantly so.

Bowdoin: The oldest and most well-known of the schools, probably best reputation, in rural Maine, gorgeous campus, very outdoorsy, many old-stockes, pretty preppy

Earlham: Quaker school in Indiana, good reputation, but more of a regional school than Haverford. Not quite as strong academics. Big emphasis on study abroad. Very liberal and very rural.

Beloit: Decent school. Liberal like Reed, but not quite as intellectual.

Hamilton: Beautiful campus in upstate NY, close to half of the school is from the state, similar to Colgate
