What are some good Canadian colleges and universities?

Western and Mcgill come to mind.

mcgill, u of toronto, queens are probably the three best. Waterloo is superior to those three in math/comp sci/engineering though; it has the largest math faculty in the world.

It depends on what you're looking for. Check out Macleans ratings, while not perfect they're the best rating system of Canadian universities.

When it comes down to it, U of Toronto is probably the best school in Canada. McGill, however, seems to be the most prestigious school in the states, as well as having the best city experience (Montreal). Both of these are east coast and urban. University of British Columbia is also ranked high in the "big university" area, and is good if you want a beach and a more laid back atmosphere. Queens is also an excellent school (Located in Ontario). Really, a lot depends on what you want to study :)

Are you applying from the US? I'm from Seattle Washington and I went through the whole Canadian school search and apply thing last year. I was admitted to all the schools I applied to and eventually decided on McGill largely because of the neat experience of living in Montreal, while getting a good education.

If you have any questions about applying as an international student feel free to ask :)

If you want cheap tuition for undergrad and still want to do law school, MBA, or graduate studies in the US. Then, McGill's international reputation is unparalleled in Canada. Otherwise, a bachelors from UBC, Toronto, or McGill are pretty much the same.

Waterloo, UBC, McMaster, Queens, Guelph, McGill, Toronto, Western Ontario. those 8 are certainly very respected.

the beach at UBC isn't great, it's too cold most of the year, and from experience, it turns into a nudist beach during the nights...
