Hi, i just wondered if any of you guys knew anything about North Carolina @ Chapel Hill. Apart from the Basketball team, what areas does it excell in? I've heard that it has a good honors program...is there anything else that makes it stand out?

i'll be going to unc next year on an academic scholarship. unc excels in many areas. wonderful honors program, wonderful location, strong dpeatrments in every subject (the jounalism program is especially good), lots of many campus organizations/activities (unc ranks 3rd for best intramural sports)

good basketball teams, soccer teams, lacross team, field hockey team, tennis, baseball...all have been ranked in the past year or are currently ranked in the top 25 for their sport.

English, Business, Biology, and Mass Communications and Journalism departments are great.

they've got nanotechnology labs.

eh, other cool stuff: Franklin Street, The Dean Dome, and the whole rest of the campus.

good medical, nursing, law, and dental schools.

good public heath school.

biostatistics department, weird, eh?
