Besides Amherst, Williams and Swarthmore, what are the best liberal arts colleges on the east coast?

thanks.

Might look at some LAC's that combine good academics with athletics such as Colgate and Holy Cross.

Most LACs are on the East Coast. The top ones are: Wellesley, Davidson, Middlebury, Haverford, Bowdoin, Wesleyan, Washington and Lee, Vassar, Smith, Bryn Mawr, Colby, and Colgate.

Boston College is not an LAC as it has something like 8000 undergraduate students not to mention the many graduate students it has as well.

Trinity (Ct.), Dickinson, Conn College, St. Mary's College (Md.), Mary Washington, Hamilton, Union - NOTE: some LAC's mentioned earlier are not on the east coast (must be alum pluggin) and others are not coed (you made no mention if that was an issue or not...)

Tufts is not an LAC

look to the south for more great east coast LACs, like Washington and lee in Virginia or Davidson in North Carolina.

This is, of course of by east cost you mean the whole East Coast and not just the northeast

Outside of AWS, the most highly regarded Eastern (New England/Mid Atlantic) LACs are Middlebury, Bowdoin, Haverford, and Wesleyan.

A notch below but also great: Colby, Bates, Trinity, Hamilton.

If you like Southern schools, look at Davidson.

There are the Magnificent Seven LACs of the Northeast, three of which are AWS; the other four are Middlebury, Bowdoin, Colgate and Wesleyan. Add to that Haverford as well as Colby, Bates, Hamilton, Trinity, Holy Cross, Connecticut College, Vassar, Union, Lafayette and Bucknell and you've got some very top choices.
