my mom went to BU and loved it - she was a music major, and i guess it was very rigorous. i applied and am waiting to hear back, but they seem to be a very strong school in most areas. ::shrug:: sorry if that didn't help.

I am a sophmore at Boston University. If you don't mind not having a that campus feel, being in the city, the school is pretty good. We definetly have a great variety of programs and are top ranked in our specialities (Communications, Occupational Therapy, International Relations) It can be a pain when it comes to money, they try to squeeze you for all you're worth. But overall it's a pretty good school. Lack of a lot of sports is a small downfall for some, but hockey is huge and basketball is pretty good.

Hey Viracity,
I was reading that your mother obtained a music degree from BU. I'm trying to help my daughter decide between NYU and Boston University. She ultimately wants to be a film scorer. We thought we had this thing decided and now Boston University wants us to reconsider. We thought it was going to be NYU all the way, then I discovered from "Leia", who attends NYU that NYU (CAS)actually did give my daughter more merit aid than most. Now all of a sudden, Boston University wants us to reconsider and make it worth our while to listen to what they have to offer...... What is really going on here? So now I'm trying to take a quick crash course in Boston University for Music Majors 101. Does anyone know how these schools compare?

I visited BU, I'm interested in their med program, I wouldn't consider it at all for undergrad. I didnt get a sort of college feel when I was there, like shortyd mentioned, also a main street intersects the campus, commonwealth avenue, and it was just tons of traffic and really busy and crowded, I'd like to go to college to a place thats campus is secluded and squared off, with only college students around, yet close to at least one big city within a half hour to an hour away.

Ndhawk,
Thanks for the info. Why oh why can't my daughter have it all? Go away cruel cruel world! Is it the lack of a college atmosphere at BU or the quality of the education or some other variables?
