Every year the local newspaper posts the top ten from my school. I was foruntate enough to be a part of that, but I sort of messed up it. I made mine comedic while all the other students actually listed awards and achievements. It was funny at first, but now I regret having done that... I wonder my parents are going to say...

Normally I am a very serious guy... I earned really high grades, do a lot of stuff outside of school, work, graduated second in class, etc. But in the write up, I wrote about my "dream" of becoming a "fork lift operator" (No offense to fork lift operators). My parents BTW, don't know about this yet but I'm sure they are going to read the newspaper so they will find out.

That's cute. I wouldn't suggest putting that article in your college apps or anything...unless you're applying to an agriculture community college or something...

Its very politically incorrect - but I'm glad that you still have a sense of humor. Some of the people that read the paper will be amused, some offended, but yours will be the only bio that anyone (except a relative) will talk about at the dinner table. As for your family - if they don't see the amusement value, you will just have to duck for a while.
BTW, are you going to work on your college's newpaper? Might be fun. Congrats on your class rank, and best wishes for your college years.

That is so damn funny. I like it. Don't worry about what you put because there will be a million more chances to "show off" you wonderful accomplishments such as in job interviews, resumes, etc. However, ten years from now when you look back to right now (assume you kept a copy of the paper), you wouldn't even remember all the achievements but will still remember that funny articles.
Besides, with all the great stuff the other students puts, it can get overwhelmed and boring to keep on reading the article. It is nice to be able to take a break by reading your article. Seriously too.

lol and also, don't worry about what people will say because everyone knows that your STATS had to be good to be one of the top ten so congrats for that! i think what you did was hilarious and yeah ur parents may tell you they aren't thrilled, but deep down, even they'll be laughing...

Which paper, Confused? I know you're not far from me. I filled one out for The Bremerton Sun for their valedictorian thing. I can't remember if I was sarcastic or not in mine but I couldn't care less.
