which SAT II's do i need for an Ivy level school?
I have done Writing, adn i'm taking Math IIC and US History this weekend...

do i need a science or a language also? i heard somewhere i only needed 3 - writing, math, and any other... is that true? how bout if i've taken an AP test in the subject - if i do well, will that count (ie, can i skip SAT II span if i get a 3 or 4 or 5 or whatever on AP Spanish?)

thanks a million

Take whatever you think you can do well on. Yes, you usually do need three for the ivies unless you submit ACT scores (like for Cornell and Brown). Writing is usually one of the three submitted (sometimes writing is required as one of the three) and Math IIC and US History sound fine. If you're comfortable on more exams, then by all means go ahead and take them. There is nothing saying that you should or shouldn't take the Spanish SAT II if you take the Spanish AP and score well or anything like that. However, you can't use one of your AP scores as a replacement for an SAT II - you MUST have three.

If you are looking at Ivy I think you should be fine. If you are also looking at mathy places like MIT or Caltech - check the fine print - I think they might recommend or require a science. Also, many people take (and do well in) SAT II's after they have completed the AP course. Just remember that AP and II's tests aren't identical - at least take the SAT II test in the Reals book ahead of time to know what you are going into.
