Besides Boston College and Harvard, what are some other places with some Irish/Scottish studies program?

Emory University has recently started a degree program in Irish studies. Seamus Heaney often teaches at Emory.

Wow, really? My D is interested in Irish studies. Do they have a grad program?

(Fun fact...I babysat for Seamus Heaney's kids once in Dublin.)

Garland--my computer doesn't want to cut and paste this morning, but if you go to the Emory university website, hit "search"at the top of the screen and just type in "Irish"--there are informational press releases in April and May discusssing the new program. It seems that it will be very strong.

University of Richmond has an irish studies program, I believe. Also, many of the Catholic universities do as well - try Georgetown, Notre Dame, and Holy Cross for starters.

I am aiming for big public Universities so Georgetown and Holy Cross are definitely out as well as many other Catholic Universities.

I wish I could afford to study at Trinity College!

You can probably figure out a way to get a semester or year abroad at Trinity/Dublin. Check out the international study options at the public unis that you are researching.
